Keukenhof Gardens
Stationsweg 166A, 2161 AM Lisse, Netherlands
Open in Google Maps →Keukenhof is the worldβs largest flower garden, and for the eight weeks each spring when it opens its gates, it becomes one of the most spectacular sights in Europe. Spread across 32 hectares in the heart of the Dutch bulb-growing region, the park showcases approximately seven million flower bulbs in bloom β tulips in every imaginable color dominate, but hyacinths, daffodils, orchids, roses, and many more species create a tapestry of fragrance and color that overwhelms the senses. Winding paths lead through themed gardens, past reflecting pools, and beneath canopies of ancient trees.
Beyond the outdoor displays, indoor pavilions feature curated flower exhibitions, artistic installations, and showcase gardens designed by leading horticulturists. The surrounding Bollenstreek (bulb region) adds to the experience, with commercial flower fields stretching to the horizon in vivid stripes of color. Keukenhof has been welcoming visitors since 1950 and remains one of the most photographed places in the Netherlands.
Pro tip: Arrive right at 8:00 AM opening to enjoy the gardens with a fraction of the usual crowds β by midday, the paths can become very congested. Combine your visit with a bicycle ride through the surrounding bulb fields, which are free to view and equally stunning. Check the bloom forecast on the Keukenhof website before booking.
