Niagara Falls is one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world, with over 750,000 gallons of water plummeting 51 metres every second. The Canadian side (Horseshoe Falls) offers the best vantage point, with the massive curtain of water stretching 670 metres wide.

The mist rises high into the sky, creating permanent rainbows on sunny days. At night, the falls are illuminated in a spectacular light show that makes them glow in shifting colours.

Pro tip: Take the Hornblower boat cruise to feel the power of the falls up close — you will get soaked, but it’s the most thrilling experience. The evening illumination is spectacular for photography.
